Blabberize- What magic can be created at home?

Blabberize is really easy to create. First you select a photo and crop it. Then the hardest part is selecting the part where the mouth is. Next you choose your sound by 1. uploading a sound file 2. recording to the website or 3. by calling in using your cell phone. Finally once your registered you can save your Blabber and share it, edit it, or delete it. The only con is that you can not download it. So for teachers to use Blabberize in my county they will have to create one at home and then post it on Edublog or Wikispaces.

Ideas for Blabberize (Elementary) :
Language Arts:

  • Vocabulary photos and/or words associated with sound clips
  • Multiple meaning words with sentences
  • Share poems with illustration uploaded
  • Choose an object/picture that represents a letter sound and sing song to go with sound
  • Give book reviews
  • Character point of view

Math:

  • Math songs to remember concepts such as multiplying, adding, subtracting, dividing, counting money, telling time, area/perimeter, measurement conversions, etc...

Science/ Social Studies/History:
  • Songs for remembering concepts
  • Use a photograph of someone famous to give a biography. This encourages high level thinking when students need to pretend they are the famous person.

Classroom management
  • A fun way to explain procedures for a project on a blog/wiki  (Use a celebrity photo that students can relate with using your voice)
  • Student biography
